The
Vacu-Maid
Group, a wholly Queensland owned company, began operations in July 1969
under the name “Vacumatic Distributing”. Virtually a one person operation, the business was conducted from shared premises at Stones Corner Brisbane selling and installing the comparatively unknown concept of central vacuum cleaning systems to the domestic market. Vacu-Maid is now the most widely recognized central vacuum cleaning system in Queensland and has become the generic term applied whenever people think of central vacuum cleaning systems. As
the company gradually expanded during the 1970s, various minor agencies
were added to the core business of Vacu-Maid.
A range of intercom systems
for domestic, home unit and commercial installations complimented the Vacu-Maid product line and the now widely used “package” concept
began to take shape, where one company could supply a package of
products to the purchaser. In
1980, the move into the manufacture and distribution of cellulose
insulation
saw the business shift to larger premises at Coorparoo Brisbane and the
introduction of a new name “Vacu-Maid (Qld) Sales”. 1988
saw a change of ownership. Insul-Safe Pty. Ltd. Trading as Vacu-Maid (Qld)
Sales came into being. Insul-Safe Pty. Ltd. had commenced operations in
1983 selling and installing cellulose
insulation under the brand name “Insul-Safe”.
Our
insulation division stocks a range of products including loose fill cellulose
insulation, polyester batts,
Foil Board sheet
and sarking.
There is no situation that we cannot cover for either thermal or
acoustic insulation. At
this stage, the Vacu-Maid
package was expanded to include a range of security
systems
for the domestic, commercial and industrial markets. Rapid expansion during the 1990s saw the relocation of the head office to Murarrie Brisbane in 1998. From
this location, the whole of Queensland and northern New South Wales is
serviced via a network of distributors. In Brisbane, the group currently
employs in excess of 40 highly dedicated people. The
Vacu-Maid group is proud of our record of uninterrupted service and back
up for the products that we offer.
